OBITUARY.
J. M. BENTON. & - i -- ' (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) P DUNEDIN, June 25. Mr Joseph Meggitt Benton died suddenly to-day- at his residence at St. Clair, aged seventy/ He was born at Grimsby and after leaving school antered the lumber business. He came to Dunedin in 1913 as manager for Hogg and Co., timber merchants, remaining in this position until-he retired in 1924. He is survived by a son and daughter, and a brother, Mr S. F. Benton, at one time manager of Brown, Eking and Co., and ~ . v more recently of BraithWaites, Ltd. ■ff' REV. L. L. CTJBITT. AUCKLAND, June 25. The ;Riev. Lyttelton Lucas Cubitt died at Devonport yesterday, aged 82. He arrived in Auckland in 1876 to carry on Anglican missionary work.
