GOVERNMENT SHOULD RE GIVEN
A CHANCE. AUCKLAND, June 24. Politics were mentioned by a member of a deputation which interviewed the .Minister of Internal Affairs at To Awamutu. Mr Andrew Wallace, a settler of the district, said that,in politics lie was a Reformer. \ However, lie was impressed by what was being done by the present Government. “1 hope the present Government will have a chance to carry on for the next three years, so that we can see what it can do,” .Mr Wallace said. Mr de la Perrclle said that lie was very pleased to receive the testimony of an opponent in politics to the " which the Government was doing. Mr Wallace had stated the position accurately. What the Prime Minister and his colleagues desired was a fair run for the life .of the present Parliament. He felt certain that, at the ond of that period, there would be a general desire for : the Government to remain in office. “Since my appointment to the Ministry, I have had to travel a good deal fn both islands,” the Minister said. “T am quite convinced that the people of New Zealand will give the present Government a fair chance to formulate and carry out its policy.
