' .MADRID, June 24. w, A wireless message has been picked up, purporting to state that a British steamer has found a derelict aeroplane 1.20 miles from the Azores, with no sign of a crew. AIR ENQUIRY. (Received this dn** ■' ° a.m.) LONDON, June 2d. An inquiry into the City of Ottawa disaster lias opened. Sir W. Jowitt, representing the Air Ministry, said an examination of the engine revealed the cause of the disaster was the 'fracture of bolts holding the connecting rod bearing, which enabled the rod to get adrift. Pilot Brailii denied that the machine nose-dived. He was unaware that the passengers were unable to work the lifebelts. The inquiry was adjourned.
