LATE LOCALS.

W T e regret to record the death at Westland Hospital this afternoon of Maureen, the 7-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Denis Feeney of Blue Spur, from pneumonia. Very general sympathy will be extended to the parents and relatives in their sad loss.

According to a London cable it is announced that- Sir James Parr will remain there beyond the three year term of office as High Commissioner for New Zealand, which expires on July 31st. He attends the League Red Cross Conference in July at the League of Nations Assembly in September.

The King and Queen (says a London cable) return to London on July Ist. r They will travel from Windsor in a closed car as far as Kensington, where, weather permitting, they will enter an open landau, with outriders and postilions wearing the Royal livery, for a State entry. They will travel by an indirect route, to enable many thousands, who certainly desire to do so, to welcome the King’s return. It was the King’s own desire that an open carriage be used in the final stage, if the weather renders it possible. The thanksgiving service at the Abbey is fixed for July 7th. Their Majesties will attend tho service, and journey to Sandringham next day, and probably spend some time the,re.
