DEATH OF M. J. KEANE
EDITOR OF “PRESS.” (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 22. Obituary.—Mr M. J. Keane, aged 49 years, editor of the “Press,” from pneumonia, after a. short, severe illness. Deceased was a native of Hokitika, his parents living in .Sale Street in the early days. He was a nephew of 'the late -Mr Hugh Cassidy, and his parents kept the Springfield Hotel for inanj years. Deceased was a notable writer and was a distinguished pressman, unci had been editor of the Christchurch “ Press ” for a number of years.
