MOTOR SMASH
TWO PERSONS HURT. PAHIATUA, June 20. There was a motor collision on Hall’s Road at the corner near tin Public Hospital this afternoon. 1L Mutch, of Carterton, agent for a dairy firm, was proceeding to Palmerston Show, accompanied by R. Mil.et, belonging to Clive, when his car collided with a car driven by Trevor Hughes, of Pahiatua. The impact was very severe. Millet was thro .mi against a tree trunk, and bail his hip dislocated and liis shoulder injured. He also suffered concussion, and was removed to the hospital. Mutch sustained only slight - injury. Hughes, and also a Chinaman named Wong Wai, who was proceeding to Auckland ami had been given a lift by Mutch, both escaped unhurt. Mutch s cai is j almost a total wreck. Hughes’s is j damaged in front.
