STOWAWAYS ON ULLMAROA. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, June 19. Three stowaways by the Ulimaroa yesterday, John Potter, Luke Veal, and Jack Bennett, were each fined 20s in default seven days’ gaol. They also were ordered to pay £6 10s passage money, in default a month’s gaol. The men declared they were desperate befhg out of work SO' long in New Zealand. WHEAT EXPORTERS SCORE. 1 SYDNEY, June 20. There are as many overseas ships now bringing coal to Australia which have little prospects of obtaining outward general freights for a return voyage, that wheat freights for June and July have been reduced from thirty to twenty shillings per ton. PUREBRED CATTLE. (Received this dav at 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 21. Thp most important selection of purebred cattle, which arrived in New South Wales for several years, landed yesterday. The shipment included tho show bull Naemoore Kingfisher, regarded as the best bull bred in Stirling, Scotland. x The Hereford bull, Eyton Robin landed, is of tremendous scale and is by Lion, tile unbeaten champion of England. ARBITRATION ACT. RURAL WORKERS WITHDRAWN. SYDNEY, Juno 21. The State Cabinet has decided to withdraw rural workers from the operations of the industrial Arbitration Act. The Attorney-General was instructed to prepare legislation for the (introduction at the next session of Parliament. THe Bill will apply to all rural workers in the State, working under State awards.
GAS RESTRICTIONS,
SYDNEY, June 21
There has not only been a failure by consumers to economise in the use of gas, hut since the restrictions were lifted, the consumption has been greater than normal. As a consequence the Gas Emergency Board decided to reimpose the restrictions.
