A COUNCIL DECISION
UPROARIOUS SCENES

(Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 20.
There were- uproarious scenes with police guarding the doors, two hundred people being crowded in a small room. Hoots, cheers and biting phrases outside the overflow of a meeting. This was the scene at the Canterbury Council when the Aldermen reversed the finding of the local Government inquiry and decided to dismiss the Town Clerk and Engineer. It was learned after the meeting that legal action will he taken immediately. The Council will probably be sued for wrongful dismissal. The inquiry had exonerated the two, who were charged with neglect of duty. •
