The "merest novice can do it.’’ In these words in the latest book on angling in New Zealand .Mr Zane Grey casts a slur upon New Zealand sportsmen. At yesterday’s meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty co animals, when Rev Saunders said Mr Grey stated that when hooked on i triple gang hook, a swordfish did not fight, but was drawn up choking and bloody, with its stomach hanging out. If correct, this seemed to the speaker a shocking cruelty. It was resolved 1o write to the Auckland Society for an inquiry.
