OBITUARY.
GENERAL BOOTH. 3 # (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, June 1(5. The death of William Bramwell I Booth is reported, He was the General of the Salvation Army since 1912. He I was the eldest son of the late General William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, and was horn in Halifax on Bth. March 1856, he being in his 74th. year at the time of his death. In 1882 the late General married Miss Florence Eleanor Soper, daughter of the late Dr. Soper, of Plymouth. General Booth was educated privately and commenced public work in 1874. He had travelled [extensively, including Europe, America, Canada, India, Australia and New Zealand. He was Cliai' man of the Salvation Army. Life Insurance Society, and the Reliance Bank; Joint president of the Temperance Council of Christian Churches; and Chief of Staff to the Salvation Army from 18SU to 1912, and was the author of many social and religious works.
