STOLEN PROPERTY
AN ARREST MADE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 18. Last night detectives arrested at Epsom, Francis Hampton Housiaux, 25, described as a grocer. He was m company with a- girl of seventeen, who vas also arrested, the charge against her being of being an idle and disorder y person. Both appeared at the Police Jourt this morning, before Mr Hunt, die magistrate. The girl, whose name was suppressed, was remanded for a week. The charge against Housiaux was that on June 17th he stole three gold watches, one silver stop-watch, two rold watch chains, 24 gold .wristlet watches, two gold bracelets, two gold armlets, and a chain of a total value off PlO5 the property of some persons unknown. A considerable quantity of the stolen property was in his possession when arrested. The balance was recovered in a house subsequently visited by detectives. Accused was remanded to June 25tli. None of the property mentioned was part of tha • stolen ifrom Lady Lockhart’s residence.
