A DAILY MESSAGE
LOOK WITHIN. How often somebody who is interested in us says: “1 have a Ifriond with whom you Jiavo so much in common that 1 feel you really must meet and get to know each other.” it may be important that we should meet our friend’s friend, and get to know him; but how much more important that we should meet ourselves and get thoroughly acquainted. Behind the woman you are there is a greater woman—the woman you could be. &|he is the real you.
A great crisis in your life, a great love, a great sorrow, may introduce you to her, but many of us die without ever making her acquaintance or recognising her power.
.So long as you remain unacquainted with that bigger woman within you, so long are you locking up riches unused ; so long have you great asses uninvested.
But those assets are infinitely more valuable than material assets. They are immortal. They are 'assets df character and power. Whatever our business in life may be, it is our chief business to use well the wealth with which Nature has endowed us; to find a way to open up those great resources within us; to find a key to that ability which we have never fully used.
Begin by getting acquainted with your greater self!
Your instinct tells you that there is a much better and bigger woman within you than you have ever known, and she is waiting 'for expression. Get used to that woman; stir her up! Call her out!
Literature is rich in the life-stories of women who were dwarfed and inferior creatures. Something happens which quickens their spirit—and, lo! they become valuable assets to the community.
It may have been a book, a poem, a fine example, a great experience, a flash of spiritual illumination, that opened np the great within and brought out the greater woman. Ilf some spark could each day fire the spirit of a hundred women and cause them to stir and bring out the nobler woman within, how much richer the community would be! _M. PRESTON STANLEY.
