Hie Senate lias refused to prevent the national origin clause in the Immigration Act of 1924 going into effect. The greatest ebaiujes will be in the quotas affecting Britain. Northern Ireland. Germany, and Scandinavian countries. The British quota will •be <14,721 against the old minfher of fit.oo7.
