Owing to altered trading conditions resultant on good roads and efficient motor services, the Union. Coy. is withdrawing the passenger tender “ I uatea.” front Gisborne and sending her to Auckland. During the 2t years the “Tuatea” has been at Gisborne she carried 300,000 passengers to and from the roadstead, and though the service was often performed under difficult weather conditions, not one person had been injured. Captain Hawke, master of the “Tuatea” is retiring from the sea.
