HUNGARIAN STATESMAN DEAD

The death is announced of Count Julius Andrassy, the Hast Foreign Minister of the former Austro-Hun-garian Monarchy, who attempted to effect a separate peace in 1918. Count Julius Andrassy was born in June, 1860. After holding several minor dmlmnatic appointments, lie entered the Hungarian Parliament, eventually becoming Minister of the Interior, and later Foreign Minister. Since the War he lias been a loyal supporter of the Hapsburgs, and frequently visited the ex-Empress Zita, in Spain. He has repeatedly attacked the present Horthy regime in Hungary. but failed to obtain election to either House. He advocated the union of Austria and Hungary under one throne.
