SUMMER TIME
AN APPRECIATION FUND. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, June 14. At a meeting of the Summer-time Appreciation Committee, it was decided to hand over funds, not less than £.500 to the New Zealand Institute. The funds were donated mostly by shilling subscriptions by those who desired to express their appreciation of the passing df the “Summer-time” Act. It is proposed to use'the amount to provide a medal to he known as the “ T. K.'Sidey Summer Time Medal” to he presented at intervals of some years, together with a monetary prize for the best contribution to our knowledge 'of light in relation to human welfare. With regard to the re-enactment of the “Summer-time” measure, it was decided to leave the whole matter in Hon. Sidey’s hands to act in any way lie considered most desirable, having ruga*cl to the state df the new House on the question. '«
