THE BUTTER. QUESTION. (United Press Association.—By Electric , Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this day at 11.‘25 a.m.) ' OTTAWA, June 13. The alleged practice of creameries importing Australian butter, reworking it and selling it wrapped in the same kind of wrappers as they wrapped Canadian butter in, was condemned in the House of Commons by some members to-day. The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Notherwell) said as long as the wrappers did not specify it was Canadian butter the creameries were within the law. Mr E. J. Garland (United Farmers of the Alberta Group) thought a regulation should be made compelling all imported goods to carry the name of the cosuntry of origin. All 1 H. E. Spencer (United Farmers. Alberta) asked if the Minister would bring in legislation next session providing for this. The Minister did not make any comment.
