~JSS AROHA CLIFFORD’S FEAT. CHRISTCHURCH, June 11.' Two pupi;s—members of the Canterbury Aero Clu-—had their first soio flights to-day. One of them was Miss Arohfi Clifford, aged 20 years, the daughter of Mr'W. L. Clifford, who thus 'achieves tfie distinction- of being the first .Club-trained woman pilot to dly solo in New Zealand.
'Miss: Clifford only began-to take lessons on May 2nd. To-day she made several circuits of the aerodrome, and made un excellent landing eitch time.
