RAIN IN TASMANIA. (Australian Press Association). HOBART, June 7. Further heavy rain fell on the north west coast, but the damage is passed and the waters are receding. Much damage is reported in the Eleverstron district. A landslide on the main coast road is getting worked and the road is closed. CAMPAIGN AGAINST CRIME. SYDNEY, June 7. In the campaign against crime in Sydney, Judge Curlewis so far this week, has declared live men habitual criminals. The Acting-Justice E. Milner Stephen has been appointed to succeed Justice Campbell as Judge of the Supreme Court. Two new acting Justices, .T. H. Hammond, K.C. and W. Y. Maxwell, K.C-., have also been appointed.
