John Reginald Ellis was sentenced to two years hard for false pretences and he was declared an habitual criminal. William Baker, his real name, to enree years hard, and also declared an habitual criminal.

INTOXICATED DR I VER. PALMERSTON N., Juno 5. Lionel Bisjiop, a farm, hand at Ivarere, was fined £lO and license cancelled for two years, for intoxication while in charge of a motor-car. Defendant was also fined for a breach of a prohibition order and for driving i\ car without a license. TWO YEARS’ PROBATION NAPIER, June 5. At the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice ordered a term of two years’ probation for Jack Hall, on a charge of .breaking, entering and theft.:
