SCHOOLS’ DENTAL SERVICE
MINISTER FA YOU RS EXTENSION. AUCKLAND, June 3. Disagreement with the views expressed by the Loyal Orange Lodgi at its recent Conference in Welling ton has been recorded by “the Hon. Mr Atmore. Minister for Education. The Minister was recently advised by the Lodge that a resolution had heei passed affirming the principle of Stat< education as at present conducted, and objecting to any extension ef privileges to private schools. In a reply noting the purport of the resolution the Minister, according to a statement in Auckland to-day. lias made the point clear that lie is not in accord with the view that an extension of the dental clinic system should not'be made to denominational schools. It was not reasonable to expect the parents of children attending other than State schools to he debarred from amenities in the way of dental supplied by the State. Such parents were taxpayers and it was not fair that they .should not be allowed . the . privileges the State provided.
