At Leichhardt Stadium Tommy Niven (Queensland) outpointed Lachic McDonald (New Zealand) m lil'lc-m rounds, despite the llaefc that AlcDonald always seemed to have a complete lead. Al(Donald was out of form hut had most of the leading and used the right to the body effectively, but lie weakened apparently in the later rounds.
Tim contest was fast with much .wild bitting. Niven crouching In" .McDonald delivered many heavy right' and left punches and received a goodly number on the side of the head. The crowd were greatly excited in the■ thirteenth when Niven complained of n foul that staggered him, but the referee allowed the. contest to continue. When the referee declared Niven the winner the. crowd vigorously hooted.
