ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.
CHRISTCHURCH, May 29
While if at stock held late rates, except in the case of beef, prices to-day at Addington sale showed no increase. Fat Cattle.—There was a. good yarding of fat cattle, with no outstanding lines. The market opened firm, but later became irregular. Extra heavy steers fetched £lB 10s to £'2o 2s Gd, heavy £IG 10s to £l7 15s, handy weights £l4 os to £ls los, medium £lO los to £l2, unfinished £8 ilos to £lu os. Extra prime heifers sold from £l3 10s to £ls f2s 6d, prime £lO 10s to £l2 os. medium £8 10s to £0 los. Extra heavy cows sold from £l3 to £ls 2s Gd, heavy £ll 10s to £l2 10s, prime £8 to £9 10s, medium £G los to a- 1 10s, light from £4 12s Gd. Fat Sheep.—There was a fairly large yarding of fat sheep. The market was firm. Extra prime sheep sold to 38s 7d, prime 33s to 35s Gd, medium 29s to 325, light 27s to 28s fid? Extra prime ewes made 355, prime ewes 29s to 325, medium 23s to 28s, light 21s to 255.
Fat Lambs. —There was, a. medium entry off fat lambs. The m-rket was firm. Extra prime heavy lambs to 375. prime 31s to 33s fid, r adium 28s fid to 30s, light 25s fid to 2-s,
Store Sheep.—There was a smal'"" yarding of lambs, mostly wethers, o medium quality. The competition was dragging, and there was a decline in values. 'There was a small yarding of adult store sheep, of medium giade. The market was on a par with the late
rates. ’ Rigs.— There was a large entry or pork and bacon. Values are easier. Light choppers sold from 30s to 50s. heavy to £-1 8s Gd, light bacon £3 to £3 10s 6, heavy £3 lfis to £4 4s. The average price was 5Jd to Gld per lb. liohf porkers sold from 34s to 42s hhavy 45s to 54s Gd. the average being 5Ad to firtl per lb.
