Q UESTI ON OF WELCOME AT AUCKLAND!

AUCKLAND, ’May 23
In reply to an inquiry from the Auckland Town Clerk, the Department of Internal Affairs, referring to the visit of the German cruiser Emden, stated in a telegram that, in addition to official recognition by the Government the courtesy offered to visitors from foreign naval Powers would be extended. The matter of a civic reception in Auckland has not yet been considered by the City Council, hut it will come up at next meeting; • >' : ■'• - ’• : " ' >
