GUILTY OF RAPE
TWO SEAM EN AT WESTPORT
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, May 22. At the Police Court to-day, Colin Clyde Austin and George .Eden Hayward, off Llie's.s. “Kaiwarra,” who were remanded in custody on Saturday last, appeared before Air J. Scanlon and Mr E. R. Fox, Justices, on a charge-of rape, concerning a local girl aged 17 years and on a charge of assault concerning her brother, aged U>. Tho offences were alleged to have taken place when the girl and her brother were returning home from a dance last Saturday morning.
The accused pleaded guilty to both charges, and they were committed for sentence to tile Supreme Court.
