Phillips (Auckland), A. •J. Dierton and S. Williamson (Canterbury), Dr Galway and 0. Gray (Otago), .). Porteous, seni r. T 7 speetor of native schools, who is Hie Government representative. 111 the absence of Dlr Atmore and the Director of Education, for whom he apol.gised, the Assistant Director of Education, Dfr A. Bdl presided at fin* opening and outlined the functions of the Board. Later Dlr Parker was unanimously elected first chairman. Dlr E. O. Cachenmillc was appointed registrar.
