At the annual ( ommunication of the -New Zealand Masonic (Land Lodge, held in Dunedin, special allusion was made to the position of the Wid nvs’ and Orphans’ and Aged Masons’ F ind, and it was decided that each Lodge should he invited to contribute an increased amount to the fund, and iliat the method of collection should lie left to the individual Lodges. ' liy direct-oil of the Hoard, the Grand Secretary, Colonel George lh;relay, has placed before members of Lodges certain information relating to the 'fund. In the year 1920. when the Grand Lodge had a membership of 1(5.023, there were (50 annuitants, with an annual charge of £1391, or 2s per head of the membership. In 1924, with a ineinlership of 22,793, there were 123 annuitants, costing £1931. representing Is Id per herd. Last year, when the membership had reached 2(5,227, ihere were 1(50 annuitants, the annual charge being £(5(513, or os per head. In 1920 the interest received from invested funds was £l9lO, and exceeded the amount paid out in annuities by £319 ; but, although receipts from the same source amounted to £3334 ill 1928, the latter amount was £1079 less than the year’s charges upon the 'fund.
