COAL TROUBLE
COLLIERY OWNERS STATEMENT. (Australian Press Association) (United Service)* (Received this dnv 0. a.m.) SYDNEY, May IS. The President of the Northern Collieries Association (Mr McDonald) stated if the owners were permitted to carry on the industry in close co-oper-ation with the workers without the trouble making and intervention of third parties, many of the difficulties of the industry would disappear. ■ Rcpijpsontatives of the owners were prepared to meet- representatives of the rank and file of the miners at any time at a private round table conference, \yh|n'o they would he free from the atmosphere of officialdom. A frank talk could take place and a basis would soon be found lor carrying on the industry in the future.
