“TELLING TEE WORLD” —TO-NIGHT.

In “ Telling the World,” his latest starring picture for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, William Haines reveals himself as an actor of great dramatic ability.

as tvoll as a comedian of the highest Tank. For the story requires him to

lace a Chinese revolution—and Chinese '■P' summary justice—for the Sake of the ■:gi'rl 'he loves—and in this thrilling sequence he keeps his spectators on the tip-toe of mingled suspense and excitement. “Telling the World ” registers ■Haines’ comedy, however, equally as much as his dramatic talent, and spontaneous laughter will come again and again from the crowd who see this triuinliant comedy-drama at the Pfin■cess Theatre to-night. Haines has the part of a newspaper reporter in “ Tell-, ing the World,” and though his cockz surOhess riles lus associates he proves that he has a real “nose for news.” A fortunate accident wins him fame—and love. But the girl fears his in-’ difference, and accepts an offer to tour China with a revue company. This causes the young man to 'follow her—along a path of thrills and'adventure. “Telling the World ” is without 'doubt Haines’ greatest picture. Anita Pago,a young newcomer to the screen, appears opposite him as leading lady, and by her talent, gives a strong romantic appeal t'o the whole production. Sam Wood, who directed “Rook-, ies,” “ The Fair Co-ed,and “ The latest from Paris,” also directed “Telling the World.” The usual good supports in a MetroGoldwyn programme include topical, • scenic and comedy.
