CAR AND TRAM SMASH.

WELLINGTON, May 17

A terrific crash between a motor ear driven by William Roy Hill and a tramcnr occurred in Molesworth St. last night. Hill, who resides at Pitt St. Wadestown, was accompanied bv two lady passengers and was proceeding up Molesworth St. from town when lii.s ear came int-o collision with a tram which wast approaching town. The impact was violent, the motor car being badly smashed and the running I ward torn off the train. Hill was found to he suffering from a compound fracture of the skull, wounds on the face, and was unconscious. His companions received minor cuts and suffered shook. . A serious accident happened to a railway employee in the Thorndon railway yard to-night, when T.
