The New South Wales Polo Association has decided that the Austral-, asion Gold Cup tournament be run on June 27th to 29th the final to be played on the latter date. Four teams arc at present visible in New; South Wales—H'orden (the holders), Goulburn, -Invercll and Toowoomba. Queensland and South Australia are definitely out, but Victoria will probably he represented in the Countess Dudley Cup contest, in which play starts on June 27th and concludes on July 6th. SERIOUS FIRE. (Received this day at 8 a.m.j MELBOURNE, May 15. The damage by a fire at Selfridge s boot store block in the Arcade to-day is estimated at £IO,OOO. Many employees in the upper stories had narrow escapes. Girls, screaming and shouting, were rescued through the windows of adjoining buildings. .MELBOURNE, -Alny 16.
