Tim death occurred last night shortly before midnight of a well-known and respected resident of Greymoutli, in the person of Mr Robert Edward Bellamy. For some years past bo bad b?en in failing health, and the end came peacefully but not unexpectedly. The late. Mr Bellamy was 61 years of age. and was a native of Ross, where his father, the late Robert Bellamy, was one of the best-known carriers of the early days. The deceased as a young man entered into business as an undertaker at Reef toil, and twentythree years ago extended his firm to Greymoutli, where he had since resided. He was a man of sterling Character, and had the esteem of all who knew him. Besides his widow (a member of the well-known Lockington family, of Roefton), be ktives a family of five daughters and three sons. The daughters and Mrs .T. Donnellan, ofNelson Creek: Sister Gabriel, of the Villa Maria Convent. Christchurch; and Misses Emma., Grace and Teresa Bellamy, of Greymoutli, while the sons are ‘William. Edward and Harrv, of Greymoutli. They will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement.
