KILLING OF KEAS
IS TOO MUCH PAID? (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 15. When the matter of the payment of five shillings per head on all keas killed was brought under tlie notice of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Mr do la Perrelle to-day, with a statement that this is altogether too high an inducement, for the indiscriminate destruction of these birds, the Ministei stated that lie was going into the matter, and he would give it his earnest and serious thought.
