DRINK MORE MILK.

It has been estimated that the consumption of milk per head per year in New Zealand is only 2G gallons, compared with GO gallons in U.S.A. An article on New Zealand dietaries in the ‘‘.Journal of Home Economics refers to this, and adds: “It seems probable that the low calcium and phosphorus content ol the diets, together with their high sugar content, may have a direct bearing on the poor teeth and high incidence of dental caries in New Zealand, ff the amount of. milk were increased to the point where 9 per cent or more of the total calories came from this source, the calcium and phosphorus would be sufficient to ensure a supply adequate in alccordance with our present standards.”
