The most daring aeroplane manoeuvres were carried out at Le Bourget when 105 recoimoitcring and bombing machines simultaneously took off. Alter Hying three miles they formed a compact mass, flying at three thousand feet, under the protection of 40 chasing planes, which had overtaken them, and circled continually to a higher level in beautiful formation. The scheme required the nicest precision, and it was carried without a hitch. , FLY TO INDIA. ATTEMPT BY DUCHESS. LONDON, May 14. The Duchess of Bedford, though aged 03 years proposes to fly to India in two days, eclipsing the R. A. F. record. The Duchess will use a “Princess Venia’’ machine in which she failed last year. Captain Barnard will be pilot during the flight, which begins in three or. four weeks time. It is understood the Duchess will share the controls.
