WISDOM IS THE OYSTER So.MKHonv has said, “To my mind, education is the opener, hut wisdom is the oyster.” That fellow knows! fie means—in other words—that education is helpful, hut wisdom is indispensable. -Many educated men have littlo wisdom. Many wise ones are little educated—that is, in the academic sense. They never graduated at any university, except the great University of Life, and there they graduated with first-class honours. Copernicus, the son of a baker; Cromwell, the son of a brewer; Turner, the son of a barber; Faraday, the son of an ostler; these did not graduate at school—these did not have much education, the opener, lint they graduated brilliantly in life, because they had wisdom, the oyster. v/h, yes! education is a great help, but wisdom is indispensable. —M.
