NEW MUSLIM PARTY
SELF-GOVERNMENT FOR. INDIA. BOMBAY, INDIA, April 3. An important political development is expected soon at Delhi, where aiunv Muslim organisation, with the possible title of the “All India Mejlis,” is being formed. The new body is the outcome of the Muslim All-l’arties Conference held tho presidency of the Aga Khan at Delhi in January. This conference was in reply to the Ali-Parties Convention at Calcutta, where the Muslims were highly offended by the rejection of the Muslim League’s demands regarding representation in the Central Legislature. The new organisation will aim at self-government for India, but with separate electorates for Muslims and other minority communities. Muslim candidates will he selected for the next general election and the organisei‘s hope to have the Aga Khan president. They' have already been promised strong financial support. The new movement is generally regarded as the most important political development in India in recent years. The new body will be prepared to work in friendly co-operation with moderate Hindu elements.
