Ethel Lethbridge, a patient at the Queen Mary Hosptal for women, at Hatnnor, committed suicide by hanging on Saturday morning. •Deceased had been a patient for three months. Lately she became mentally depressed. At the inquest held yesterday the jury returned a verdict of suicide by hanging. MAN TAKES GAS. CHRISTCHURCH, May 13. A verdict of suicide by poisoning was returned by Coroner Levvv, S.M. at the inquest into the death of AVi‘liam Malcolm McCleary, aged 47. boiler-maker, found dead this morning in the kitchen at his home. Death resulted from gas poisoning. McCleary had l«en suffering from asthma for thirty years, and for the last year very acutely. He had gone to bed early in worse health than usual on Sunday. His wife rose early, but found he was not in his room. Sb" went to the kitchen and found him lying dead on the floor. He held a 'ms tube in his hand, and his head lav on a cushion. It was stated in evidence that ho had previous'y threatened to take his own life owing to 'his continued ill-health. ANOTHER GAS TRAGEDY. . AVA.NGANUr, May 13.
