In the open golf championships at the end of the second round the leaders were:—Diegel, 140; Hagen, 142; Aliteheli, Ml; Alliss, 145; Cruickshank Farrell, sargen, Golden, 147; Armour, Booner, Alelhorn, 148; Compton, Seymour, 149; Jurailo, Tolley, 150; AlacDomild, Smith, Barnes, 151. Other, scores: Jolly, R. Whitcombe, 152; Horton, Smith, 153; Havers, Oekenden, Robson, Duncan 154; llay, 156. Under the rules, scores exceeding 154 would he eliminated in the remaining rounds, but they provide that they must leave at least 60 competitors. Thus 64 are left in, 156 being the highest qualifying score. Apart from veterans like Yardon, Herd and Alassev, all the leading golfers qualified. The remaining rounds will he played to-morrow.
