The lifting of the restriction of the immigration of English Ptilhlie School hoys was asked of the Premier hv tho Immigration Cohunittee of the Taranaki Chamber *bf Commerce. They pointed out the Chamber had settled 150 boys with remarkable success, and that the arrival of more boys would not aggravate the unemployment, as many of the farmers were at present unaiblc to secure workers for their farms.
Sir Joseph AYard 'pointed out that there was a cry throughout the Dominion for tilt relief of the unemployment, and. for this rea.'jpn, immigration had been restricted, in tlie- meantime. He had not realised, however, that the restriction had applied to schoolboys. Tie would have an inquiry made immediately and would give tlie Chamber an early reply.
