“ Easter Union of Godless ” and other organistions are unprecedentedly active on the eve of Russian Easter. It is patent that Russians are keeping what, is considered by them the most sacred festival of the year in connection with which there will he elaborate church services,” says the “ Manchester Guardian's ” Aloscow correspondent. Trades Uunions bought up to their capacity all theatres and operas and distributed tickets to members. Performances will begin at ten o’clock on Saturday night and end at three a.m. Sunday.

During an intermission there will he speeches, games, and dances, wjliile cinemas will he open throughout the night, presenting special porlonuauces and entertainments. .Meanwhile the anti-God offensive will lie carried on in the streets. Platforms will be erected in largo city squares, where all night there will he free anti-religious talks and films.

Mounted militia will patrol the vicinity of the churches. The Soviet lias also arranged near the famous Novndobiclma nionastry, a special torchlight carnival in which masked figures will ridicule priests, rabbis, burlesque religious ceremonies and jeer.
