A preliminary meeting ctf- the Unemployment Committo set up bv the Government to investigate the ! ro,'\lom of unemployment was. held at Parliament Buildings ■ this afternoon. Mr W. T). Hunt who was elected chairman. explained the reasons for setting, up the Committee, which was the cutcome of the National Industrial Conference last year. After the question of procedure had : been decided upon, an adjournment, was nuido until Thursday evening. The Committee consists of the Under-Secretarv of the Department < f Immigration; the Secretary of the Labour Department; Mr Malcoln Fraser (Government Statistician), Messrs W. D. Hunt and T. O. Bishop (represent-; ing the employers), and Messrs J. Roberts and R. Mcßrinc (representing the employees.)
