,By Telegraph—Per Association AUCKLAND, May 4. Aubrey Field Billing, aged 49 years, was arrested by detectives at his office this morning, and he subsequently appeared at the Police Court, when lie pleaded guilty to a charge of using the premises as a common gaming house. Chief Detective Hammond said: “Billing formerly worked for a big bookmaker, who suddenly le!t the Dominion. Billing used to post the bookie’s books every night, and T. suppose be thought it wa.s ail easy way to make money by carrying on him—self, for he knew the bookmaker’s clieutel.” “He is liable to a fine of £106.” said the Magistrate, in fining Billing £25. or two months’ imprisonment.
