ENGLISH CUP FINAL. WIGAN BEATS DEWSBURY. (United Pross Association—By Electric telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, May 4. The weather at Wembley was dull and cold for tlie Rugby League Cup final, when Wigan beat Dewsbury by 13 points to 2. The [game was played before an attendance of forty thousand spectators. The game failed to reach tlie expectations of a close and exciting contest, for Wigan, with five players recruited at considerable expense, from England, Wales, New Zealand and South Africa, had little difficulty in beating their opponents, whose team, with one exception, were all born within a few mles of Dewsbury. Prominent in AYigan’s thirteen were Sullivan, Ring and Bonnet, who all toured Australasia, and two New Zealanders also had a big share in winning the game, L. Brown scoring a brilliant try, while L. Mason, a giant Maori, was .doing splendid work both on attack and defence. AA’igan scored two goals and three tries.
