AMUSEMENTS.

0* EVERYBODYS PICTURES. “THANKS FOR THE BUGGY RIDE” -TO-NIGHT. There is somethin'' inherently fascinating about a song writer trying to market a popular song, especially when presented in such a gay, lilting manner as in Laura La Plante’s new feature comedy, “Thhnks for the Buggy Ride,” which is to be shown aL .the Princess r . Theatre to-night. This picture is one of the finest of Miss La Plante’s. It is the type that will do her a lot off good with the fans because it is infinitely pleasing, a rare combination of rollicking farce (not slap-stick) and a strug-gling-vouth love story. Miss La Plante again proves herself to be the screen’s tending comedienne and is so beautiful that she could easily be the screen’s sweetheart if she wanted to specialise in romantic pictures. There is an aura of romance ’about her which all the comedy in the world can’t take away from her. Glenn Tryon is excellent in his role. Youthful and spontaneous he is the ideal lead for'Miss La Plante. Tryon, since the days when ho was; a two-reel comedian, has always had that spark which makes great stars. His originality is one of his greatest assets. Dave Rollins as the young rounder, has a sympathetic part which lie carries off with honours. This is first time we remember seeing him on the screen and he should become 'very, popular. He is something off the Arthur Lake type. Other members of the cast are well eliOMm for the/r roles’ with especial credit due to Richard' Tucker, Lee Moran, Jack Raymond, Kate Price, and Trixie Friganza. Directional honours go to William- A. Seiter, Miss La Plante’s husband. A topical and comedy will also be shown to-night. v
