A gift of ten thousand sterling by Mr Macßobertsou, a well-known confectionery manufacturer, towards the forthcoming Antarctic Expedition, has solved the major difficulties. It is described as being a most opportune gift. Tho official title of the Expedition will lie “The British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic expedition.” It has definitely been arranged that the “Discovery” will he loaned by the British Government, and will sail from (.'ape ’Town for the Antarctic.
