FIREMEN PUT BACK. (ON SHIP THEY HAD LEFT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, May 2. After a day’s search, the six Arab firemen who absented themselves from the steamer Tregenna, were located in Auckland to-day. They were placed on board the vessel, which sailed for New Plymouth to-night. SALE OF PRIVATE HOTEL. BUYERS’ CLAIM FOR REPAIRS WELLINGTON, May 2. In the Supreme Court, before Justice MacGregor, the action is proceeding in which W. D. Smith and AY. R. Pfintoff are claiming £347, from Jane Alary Tiller, alleging that she fraudulently failed to disolose that the Arcadia Private Hotel was not in good repair when she transferred it to them, and that they had been obliged to cany out repairs she should have executed. Defendant replied that the terms of the lease were observed by her, and there was no complaint from plaintiffs till six months after they entered into possession. There is a counter-claim for £IOO odd, the balance said to be owing on the purchase of stores. YOUTH KILLED. WHILE DUCK SHOOTING. WAIROA, May 2. Percy Buchanan, a lad of sixteen years, was found dead this morning at Opoiiti. The fatality occurred while lie was duck shooting. It is not known exactly how the accident occurred. MOTOR. CYCLE PREMIUM. CHRISTCHURCH. May 3. In reply to the South Island Motor Unions’ statement that the premium for the third party insurance of motor cycles appeared to he too high, the .Minister of Internal Affairs wrote to the executive, stating that tin* ratio of deaths due to motor cycle accidents was much higher than the average but the premium for motor cycles had been made the lowest on the scale of charges. In addition the charge permitted the cycle to be used for any purpose whatever, but the minimum premium for a car did not permit unrestricted use.
