DIFFERENCES AMONG LEADERS. By Telegraph—Per Press Association WELLINGTON, May 3. For n week or more past,’ a young man, Higgins, has been endeavouring fa hold meetings of unemployed in the City. He has been refused a- room at the Trades Hall and on one occasion when the Trades Hall was invaded by himself and his associates, the police were called and he was ordered off llie premises. This morning a meeting of unemployed was called by the un employ-i-nt committee of the Trades and Labour Council, and unemployed were ■sked whether they were going to follow Higgins or whether they wore content with the Unemployed Committee. After addresses had been given by both sides, a motion was carried expressing confidence- in the committee. Higgins and his associates hold that the Unemployment Committee has done nothing and advocate foiming one big unemployment union to become affiliated with the Trades and Labour Council, and have its own unemployed representatives.
