REPLY TO CRITICS

BY SMITH AND ULM. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, May 1. To-day a statement was issued by King.-iford Smith and Ulm, setting out that they have a full and complete answer to the criticisms and million does made about their recent flight and their forced landing. The state: “AVe owe it to the public to give complete details. AA r e welcome the proposed inquiry. AVe assure the public that we will do everything in our power to aid the committee of inquiry. No words can adequately express our sorrow at the loss of the two gallant men, Keith Anderson and Bobby Hitchcock. The fad that they were engaged in rescue work on our behalf makes our sorrow even more poignant.”
