(United Press Association—By Electric - Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, April 30. The “Daily News” says the Rules of Golf Committee cabled to the United States Golf Association that alter experiments with a larger and lighter ball, 1.08 inches and 1.65 ounces, decided the advantage of a change was not commensurate with the resulting disturbances of conditions of play and manufacture. Therefore, they do not propose to ask the Royal Ancient sanction of the change.
